This document contains the NCTE Act, 1993, the National Council for Teacher Education Rules, 1997 notified by the Govt. of India which provides for certain expert members of the Council, members representing States and Union Territories, conditions of service of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and the Member Secretary, Rules relating to inspection of recognized teacher training institutions, amount of processing fee, rules for preferring and disposal of appeals, etc. This document also contains various regulations framed by the National Council for Teacher Education from time to time relating to the procedure for submission of applications by institutions seeking grant of recognition for starting/ conducting teacher training programmes, regulations relating to meetings of the Council, the Executive Committee and the Regional Committees, determination of minimum qualifications for recruitment of teachers in schools and guidelines for regulations of tuition fees and other fees chargeable by unaided teacher education institutions.
